At Christie & Co, The Childcare & Education team are proud to be focusing on this year’s chosen charity The Unbeatable Eva Foundation
The charity was chosen by the amazing staff across the UK and Europe for 2022/2023 and was recommended by a colleague who has close contact to the charity’s founders.
The Unbeatable Eva Foundation was set up by Paul Slapa and Carran Williams who lost their nine-year-old daughter, Eva to an incurable childhood brain disease DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma)
Paul and Carran tried to raise funds to get treatment in the US and also appeared on Children In Need. Following Eva’s passing in 2021, the foundation has continued to help other families whose children have the same diagnosis.
Each year around 30 to 40 children between mainly the ages of 5-10 years old are diagnosed with DIPG and as of today, there are no medical options other than radiotherapy which is the same treatment that was offered 60+ years ago. The foundation help support the families with a child diagnosed with DIPG by supporting medical research and sending gift boxes so the children have happy and fun memories.
Our amazing teams will be fundraising throughout the year with various events. As The Unbeatable Eva Foundation is a smaller charity, every single penny counts and can really make a difference.
