I'm starting a fund raising page to raise money for Cancer Research UK, My story is a sad one but ends in a happy way.....Nearly 8 years ago my Mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer, in a very aggressive form, when it was investigated further, tests showed that it had spread from her bowel, through her lymph nodes, blood vessels and had gone to her liver, there were 6 tumours there, the biggest one was the size of a cherry. She was told it was terminal, we were all sat together when we were given the news that she had 12 months to live. We were all completely devastated, I was going to lose my Mum and I still felt so young and selfishly  wondered what I would ever do without her. My Mum understandably felt like giving up and we couldn't blame her, she had a huge battle on her hands, but we were all there to support her. The doctors were amazing, and with revolutionary treatment and medicine they believed that they could save her from this. She started the treatment, it was extremely savage and wrecked her body from within and along with 2 major operations, the doctors started to believe that she could survive. Now nearly 8 years on after a second battle with cancer, here she is, cured and clear of cancer, she is a winner! the medicine that she received to help her in her battle is expensive, it's difficult for the NHS to get, we need to raise money to get all the help we can for others, to fight this awful disease and make cancer a distant memory.  They need money for vital research, I would love to give them a huge cheque for the money that has been donated by you lovely generous people. My Mum isn't the only one to have suffered from this disease, cancer doesn't care if you're someone's Mum, Father, Uncle, Brother, Sister, Auntie, Daughter, Son or friend, it doesn't care what race, religion or ethnicity you are, whether you are rich or poor or old or young, it just doesn't care. We need to stop it now, thanks to your help and support more and more people are survivors.
