Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As you will all know, our amazing dad, Tony, passed away on the 6th of May 2021 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour only 7 weeks before. Dad is going to be so missed by our entire family, including his 5 small grandchildren, and his elderly parents, Madge and Bill, who have suffered a loss that no parent should ever have to face.

The statistics for the type of aggressive brain tumour that dad had are frightening - only 25% of people will still be alive 12 months after diagnosis. This drops to just 5% at 5 years. The reality for most is that it is a matter of short months, and this figure has not changed in recent years.

Our hope is that with further research, this figure WILL change - that other people with brain tumours will get the chance that dad never had - and that in years to come a cure may even be found. It would be amazing to get to a day where no family has to go through what we’re going through right now.

Thank you so much for your kindness,

Kelly, Chelsea & Danielle xxx

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
