Hi
April 15th 2009
Thank you to all my sponsors - I am hugely grateful to you all and proud that I have raised over £2500 for the BHF. Naturally I was disappointed not to make it to Base Camp but still had the trip of a lifetime - please email me for a fuller account!
Many thanks, lots of love
Keith

Well, only just over two weeks to go to departure for my challenge to get to Everest Base Camp! Dodgy knees aside, I feel very confident of getting there - I am probably fitter than I have been for years.
A particularly big thanks to all my musical friends who came along on Sunday to play Mahler's wonderful 5th Symphony. It was a truly great experience - we had about 85 people playing, and I think that we all had a wonderful time. In addition, the day raised £724 for the cause. (And with all the food provided by Ange, it was also the best birthday party ever!). Many thanks to everybody - I have now passed my target of raising £1600 for the BHF.
June 2008
I want to give a huge thank you to all my friends and colleagues who have sponsored me so far. Despite the total shown here, I am actually well over halfway towards my fundraising target.
To prepare for the challenge ahead, I have set myself another challenge for this summer which is to walk the whole of the Pennine way, all 257 miles of it. I have already done the first 42 miles with Martin, Katie and Lucy - see photo of us arriving tired and footsore at Hebden Bridge in May. I aim to get the rest of it done by July and August, so wish me luck and thanks again for sponsoring me!
This is what I wrote in February 2008:
In February 2009, I shall celebrate my 50th birthday. To prove that I still have some life left in me, I have set myself the challenge of trekking to Everest Base Camp and at the same time raising £1600 in sponsorship to help the British Heart Foundation.
I am hoping for support from all my friends to achieve this challenge. So I ask: please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
I am incredibly grateful to all my family, friends and colleagues for their support over the past 6 months. And I thank you in advance for your support in sponsoring me complete this challenge and to support the valuable work of the BHF.
