We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

I am running London again. This is a great cause and I know that, with your help, we can make a real difference.

Dementia

Dementia has had a huge impact on my life, for over 50 years now. Starting with my grandad Eric (Pop) and his sister (my Auntie Mick). Mum acted as carer for Pop for many years at a time when her and Dad should have been making the best of retirement. And then, years later, both Mum and her sister (Auntie Brenda) fought their own battles with the effects of dementia, which in turn affected myself and my brother Ian, Uncle Bob, and my cousins Kathryn, Marian and Judith hugely.

I have met some extraordinary people since joining the Dementia Revolution back in 2019, and right up there is Strawny (Sue). She is an incredibly inspirational lady, a campaigner, and star of television and radio (a winner on "Pointless" and star of "The Restaurant That Makes Mistakes"), so excited to be part of #SuesCrew for London 2024.

We are now well into 2024 and the London Marathon is getting closer. After such a big fundraising effort for New York 2023, it was always my plan for this to be less intense, with the main focus to be another quiz evening in April, but, of course, should you wish to donate, I would be so grateful.
