Keith's Race Across Scotland

Race Across Scotland · 13 August 2022
The Race Across Scotland is a 215 mile, coast-to-coast, ultramarathon following the beautiful Southern Upland Way.
The race sets off at 6am on the Saturday after my 29th birthday; and yes, this does have an air of "mid-life crisis" about it. Should all go well, and there is a lot that could go wrong, I hope to finish around 6pm on the following Monday. That is 60hrs of running, and not much sleeping!
I am a decent runner, but an event of this length goes way beyond physical ability. To force myself to keep moving forward when all I want to do is stop and sleep will take some real mental fortitude. In keeping with this theme, I have chosen to raise a little money for Mind Over Mountains - a mental health charity that offers immediate and accessible support through outdoor experiences. Their vision is one I wholeheartedly share:
Spending time outdoors is the most powerful intervention to build resilience and maintain positive well-being.
