I will be running the big two city marathons this year; and chose the ones with two names; Derry/Londonderry [DONE!!] and New York/New York.

The Derry Walled City was hosted specially this year as part of the European City of Culture 2013 in the city.  It had limited field and it was great to be part of.

The ING New York City Marathon has the biggest field of all the major marathons and a route that goes through the five main boroughs of New York.  It will also be my first visit to the city.

Why am I fund raising?  The better question would why has it taken me so long to fund raise.  I've been running for a few years now for my own selfish ends; but the New York race is going to be different.  I'll be accompanying my lovely wife as she attempts her first marathon; and I wanted to take the opportunity to raise some money for a great cause.
