Unusual times require unusual measures.
Due to COVID-19, Self-Help International is unable to hold the 5th Annual Lunch to Empower Global Women this December at the World Food Prize. Proceeds from this event have been a large percentage of Self Help's annual budget, so we are asking supporters and attendees from our past luncheons to continue their support of Self-Help's programs to empower women and girls this year.
Your valued support will fund Self-Help's programs for the upcoming year, bringing much needed economic, educational, and food security assistance to women and girls in Ghana and Nicaragua.
My wife, Nancy, and I believe in this cause and plan to match your gifts up to $10,000. Having been elected the president of Self Help's Board of Directors this past June illustrates my - our - commitment to these rural families. Please consider joining us.
In 2018, Morgan Stanley produced a 3-minute video about Self-Help when I was granted the Morgan Stanley National Community Leadership award. It briefly explains the sustainable work Self-Help does in Nicaragua and Ghana. Take a peek at the video at the top of this page.
I am acutely aware that many in our communities and even our own families are experiencing greater needs during this pandemic. However, if you can find it in your heart to offer help to these mothers, their children, and their families, please consider donating.
