We raise funds to support patients at Leeds Cancer Centre

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In May 2011 I am taking part in Trek India in the remote Himalayan region of Himachal Pradesh of some 75 km over 5 days on behalf of the Yorkshire Cancer Centre, the trek is organised by the centre and I hope to raise a generous amount by means of sponsorship.

I am undertaking this challenge as my wife has been treated for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia at St James’ Hospital for many years and underwent a bone marrow transplant last year.  Without this specialised care and attention she and others receive at the hospital she may not be with us now.

Since writing the above my wife died on the 22nd September which makes my appeal even more important and poignant. I hope that the funds raised will eventually ensure that more families do not have to endure the pain that I and  my daughters are suffering on the loss of someone whom we loved dearly.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
