Hi! We’ll be cycling the 175 miles from Redhill to Paris (!) in just 3 days. The closer the start gets, the further away Paris seems! But that’s what a challenge is all about – something to go for!
The day we cycle into Paris marks the very sad first anniversary of the day our young friend Angus lost his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. He was 14 years old. During 7 months of intensive treatment, mostly spent in hospital, Angus was brave and positive. Our cycle challenge is nothing compared to the challenge Angus and others with AML have to face. AML has a very low remission rate and can be very difficult to treat in teenagers. In his memory Angus’ family and friends have pledged to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research to make a difference, stop the tragic loss of young lives, and save others from the pain and anguish of losing their loved one.
If you can support us in our efforts to find treatments for young people with leukaemia that would be fantastic. Every donation, large or small, will really make a difference, and also help us pedal all those miles! For Angus' story visit www.justgiving.com/Angus-Mailey-Rowland
Thank you from us both!
