Story

I have decided to take on this challenge having recently been diagnosed with early onset vascular dementia. A shock I can tell you but largely brought about because of the stroke I suffered in 2016.

This Trek came at a timely point in my own life as much of the guidance given to me at diagnosis were about the benefits of walking and keeping fit. However, it has made me consider the benefits of research and anything that we do now, could hopefully aid our younger generation. Without on-going funds to keep the research wheel turning, any glimmer of hope for something that will slow down the disease, help ease the suffering in some way and provide an eventual cure, is unacceptable.

I hope you will feel able to support me when I join the Trek in August with two of my good friends, Michael and Audrey.

Thank you.
