Story
Hi all, we are Ben Robinson & Keith Gordon, a pair of middle aged, unfit miners who have decided to try and make a difference and to raise money for the GNAAS a charity that can affect all of our lives.
We will be walking coast to coast from North Tyneside, along the path of Hadrians Wall to Bowness on Solway covering 95 miles through all weathers carrying around 30kg of gear each for camping along the way and we will be wearing our mining gear for the trek. This is a massive undertaking for us but feel it is for a very worthy cause.
We have also been given a massive boost of support by our employer ICL UK who have made a generous pledge to match any sponsorship pound for pound.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatments at the scene of the incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. The charity responded to 1,640 call outs last year* alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
