I have worked in the health service since I left school. I trained and worked as a radiographer - qualifying in both radiotherapy and radiography - for 17 years before moving into general management. In 2016, I was lucky enough to be able to take early retirement and do the things I enjoy, when I want to. For some insane reason, one of these is running and I have long thought that I could do a marathon. Now is when I find out whether I have an over inflated view of my own ability/fitness or not!! Thanks to my daughter Francesca for pointing me at the St Johns hospice charity as what is better than doing something to please yourself and get yourself fit? doing something for others and particularly for those who need our support and care as they approach the end of their life.

So dig deep and help me beat the target I've set myself. Thanks for all of your support
