Barbara started nursing in Bristol and moved to St Helier hospital, Surrey, during the war. Here she met Alf, a patient, whom she married and cared for until last year when he died. She moved to Barnstaple, Devon in 1947 to care for her mother and continued nursing at the North Devon Infirmary until she retired.

 

Barbara was always happy and industrious and was active until a few weeks ago. A life to celebrate!
