Story

**EDIT** Now running two marathons! Starting with the London Virtual on 23 April. Mainly cos I’m so paranoid something will stop me running on 14th I want to get one in the bag just in case!

Hello everyone! I think it’s fair to say that most people wouldn’t have had me pegged as marathon runner, including myself! But since discovering a love of running a couple of years ago, I’ve been trying to push myself and have now completed six half marathons.

Now, I want take it one step further - 13.1 miles further to be exact, and complete 26.2 miles at the Leeds Rob Burrows Marathon in May. It’s a hilly one, with a long drag up from Otley at the mile 18 mark that I'm particularly dreading! I don’t have a time in mind, but I’d like to get round with no walking if I can! I suspect it will take me between 5.5 and 6 hours.

I’ve decided to fundraise for Hospice of the Valleys, who made my father’s last days at home as comfortable as they could be and supported me and my family through that terrible time. The Hospice of the Valleys is a small charity doing incredible work in a deprived area of South Wales and every penny makes a difference.

As this is the Rob Burrows Marathon, I will also donate £100 of my own money to MND.

Should I get injured and not be able to take part in the marathon, I will switch my entry to the Yorkshire Marathon in the autumn or do something else that is worthy of your donation, but I really hope to stay injury free!
