The Paris marathon has been a goal of mine since I started my running journey 1 year ago, just as my mum Karen was diagnosed with what is thought to be a benign, brain tumour. I wanted to do something significant and at the time seemed unachievable. My mum loves running, and it helps her cope with the unbearable pain she suffers daily from trigeminal neuralgia the tumour causes and the harmful side effects she experiences from her medication.
Since I started running I have completed the Edinburgh and the Scottish half marathons, a Triathlon and my family drag me along to Parkrun most weeks (for which I now hold the family record at 20mins).
The charity that I have chosen to raise money for is The Brain Tumour Charity. They are the leader in their field, funding world-class research, providing support and information and raising awareness of brain tumours.
Thank you for reading, I would be incredibly grateful for any contribution you choose to make which will go directly to The Brain Tumour Charity. My employer will also match any donations made up to £300.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.
