Story

A plea for support

At Keighley Salvation Army we work with several individuals and families in need of help with food and toiletries. The food bank has been running for over 20 years and on an average week we would hand out around 30 – 35 parcels. We also support several Asylum seekers and refugees each week with
food, clothing such as school uniforms and travel costs.

However, since the start of the pandemic in 2020 the need for food parcels has grown. Working alongside other food banks and support agencies working in Keighley and the surrounding area well over 2,500 parcels have been delivered or given out. This increase is due to illness, job loss, people isolating, changes to benefits and many other valid reasons why people are struggling and need of support.

As always, our supporters have been very generous with donations of food and money to keep our food bank stocked but we are now beginning to run low on many items.

If you can help us by donating, we would be extremely grateful.

Thank you.
