Story
In May myself and Anne-Marie will be running the Great Manchester half Marathon. If anyone would like to sponsor us to raise as much money as we can for Phoebe sharks SDR surgery we would really appreciate it. 🦈 💚
Phoebe is aged 3, She was born at 29 weeks and had a traumatic birth and suffered brain damage. As a result of this she has bilateral cerebral Palsy.
Cerebral Palsy is damage to the brain that affects movement and co-ordination.
Phoebe cannot walk and does not have full use of her right hand. She is a very determined little girl and is always smiling.
Just4Children are raising funds for SDR surgery and ongoing therapy in the hope that one day she will be able to walk.
Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) is a surgical procedure that aims to reduce spasticity in the lower limbs. Spasticity is the result of an abnormal communication between the brain and the nerves. SDR is effective in treating spasticity by cutting the nerve rootlets in the spinal canal that are sending abnormal signals to the muscles.
Just4Children are raising money for SDR surgery and therapy to help Phoebe walk and lead a fuller life.
