Story
Having experienced 3 episodes of Meningitis myself , both bacterial and viral and with encephalitis aswell, I have had such support from this amazing charity. Each episode was scary and traumatic for myself and my family and recovery has taken such a long time and still ongoing. The emotional and physical impact from the illness is still with me.
I would love to be able to give something back and raise some much needed funds for the charity. I will be completing the 21 miles over several walks as I can only manage to walk about 1.5 - 2 miles at a time at present as I am still recovering and have issues with balance, pain and fatigue and use a walking stick for support. I love waking my dog Dottie in the beautiful woodlands and countryside where we live so she will be joining me in this challenge 🧡
Meningitis Now face our biggest ever challenge. Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on all our lives. One thing that has been significantly affected is fundraising and this has been very much the case here at Meningitis Now. With events cancelled and much of our usual fundraising unable to happen as normal, we have faced a big drop in our income. Meningitis Now has been proud to be there for people as they have faced what is for many, their biggest challenge. Please take on the challenge of the Fabulous Virtual Walk to help us continue to save lives and rebuild futures.
