UPDATE: on 8th December my little girl Maisie has her 9th birthday and she will be celebrating the day before by running her first ever 2km race and trying to raise lots of money for the NSPCC at the Old Trafford Santa Dash. There is no show without 'punch' and her sister Lola is also joining in the fun!!..Lola is 3yrs old so we don't expect a personal best however we will be running in style and I am still on the look out for a sky blue City suit!
Message from Maisie - ''I am really excited, this is my first run. I think I will enjoy it especially because it is my birthday. I want people to sponsor me because I think about the children I am running for and it makes me sad I hope that one day they will be as lucky and as safe as me and my sister''
In 2013 I caught the running bug so this year I am looking to complete a number of races throughout the summer and autumn culminating in a half marathon in November 2014 all for raising money for the wonderful charity that is the NSPCC.
I have already completed the Bupa Great Manchester 10km in May and now I'm aiming to run at least 100km in organised races by the end of May 2015....if not sooner!
I will update the page as I register for events but so far I am running:
Manchester Bupa 10km - completed 17th May
Rhyl 10km - 29th June - completed
Wigan 10km - 7th September - completed
Trafford Santa Dash - 7th December - completed
Wilmslow Half Marathon - March 22nd
Manchester Bupa 10km - May
The NSPCC was established in 1884 to tackle child deprivation and cruelty. Unfortunately in 2014 different social pressures mean that abuse and child poverty is still prevalent and there are many vulnerable children that still need our help. Today the purpose of the NSPCC remains the same as in 1884 - to end cruelty to children. Whilst the emergence of the welfare state has improved the lives of many families the charity provides a much needed voice for children who are failed by the system. The NSPCC's strategy for the future is to focus on enabling every member of society to do everything they can to end child cruelty. BE THE FULL STOP and end child deprivation, abuse and neglect with me today!
Every donation helps and I thank you all for your support.
