Story
Earlier this year I suddenly became very ill. Of Course I did a Dr. Google to see what may be wrong and all that kept coming back was Pancreatic Cancer. I couldn't believe it. My friends, family and doctor all said I was too young and it was unlikely... but the symptoms didn't go away and then came the CT scan results... there may be a mass on my pancreas. Devastating to say the least.
Throughout all this I visited Pancreatic Cancer Action website to get advice and read (through tears most of the time) some truly inspirational stories of patients that have been diagnosed. This cancer is lethal. Just 3% survival rate (no, I didn't miss a digit there - just 3%) and receives very limited funding. The bravery shown by newly diagnosed patients was something far greater than I can ever manage.
I promised myself that if my further scans came back clear then I would do something to help. Luckily... the MRI scan came back and no mass was shown - it was a shadow on the CT scan.
So I'm going ahead with my promise. Time to help those who weren't so lucky with their journey. 10k is a lot for someone that gets tired walking from the lounge to the bedroom - so wish me luck!
