Story
Hi Everyone!
We are a mother and daughter team consisting of Sarah Kearney (Awesome Mum of six!) and Aileen Kearney (#Daughter Number 2) and we are attempting to set a new Mother and Daughter Combined Time Half Marathon Guinness World Record.
This World Record Attempt is dedicated in honour of all local families that are currently suffering because of cancer, especially those families whom we personally know and love <3 xxx
Families in Merseyside and Cheshire are more likely to be impacted by cancer than anywhere else in the UK. If the rate of death from the disease in our region fell in line with the national average, an additional 700 lives could be saved every year!
Through our World Record Attempt, we are hoping to raise £1,310.94 (the half-marathon being 13.1094 miles long) for The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre to support them in their fight against cancer in Merseyside and Cheshire. ------- We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all Clatterbridge Staff and NHS Heroes for going the extra mile during these unprecedented times – Thank you so much!!!!
We have been working towards our goal of breaking the World Record since November 2020 and have just got confirmation that we will be able to make our attempt at the Run Aintree Half Marathon on the 9th of May.
If would like to help us raise money for The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, then please do make a donation. All funds will go directly to The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.
Thank you so much, from Sarah and Aileen!
The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity
The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. The Centre makes over 220,000 patient contacts to over 30,000 patients a year, offering pioneering chemotherapy, radiotherapy and proton therapy treatments from eighteen operating sites across Merseyside and Cheshire, and including the Isle of Man. By choosing to support our charity, you will help us to improve patient experience, fund vital research, the latest therapies and innovations in cancer treatment. We are so often told that The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is unlike any other hospital. We pride ourselves on providing an environment in which patients receive the best possible experience, with the special touches that mean so much. It is so important to us that we can do this for our patients, at our centres in Liverpool, Wirral and Aintree along with our network of chemotherapy clinics in hospitals across the region.
