Story
Guild Care have been part of our local community for many years, and in 2018 we celebrated 85 years of charitable work helping people within Worthing and surrounding areas. Guild Care was established in 1933 as the Worthing Council of Social Service by a group of local philanthropists to support vulnerable local people in poverty with small grants and free legal advice. Over the years we have played a leading role in Worthing, setting up some of the towns most well-loved organisations such as Worthing Citizens Advice Bureau (one of the first in the country) and St Barnabas House Hospice. Our services are constantly evolving, and today we offer support in reducing loneliness in older people, delivering specialist dementia day care and care homes, and working with children and adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. These services also provide valuable respite breaks for carers. We also run domiciliary home care and a year round community and outreach programme.
