Like the PlayStation Network, my Twitter account has provided a free online service to gamers for many years. But just like the PlayStation Network, I have decided to change that. KazHiraiCEO is moving to a free-to-read business model with microtransactions…for charity!

In all serious, I figured I might as well do something useful with this Twitter account before I bow out. That is why I have decided to try to raise some money for a charity that does some really awesome stuff.

SpecialEffect is a British charity that provides help to people with physical disabilities who want to play video games but are restricted by their condition. They create and provide access to custom controller setups designed to fit the abilities of each individual, as well as providing advice and support.

The work they do is amazing. It gives children the opportunity to play video games with their friends and family, and can help improve their self-esteem as well as their general quality of life. I would highly recommend looking at their YouTube channel to see the positive impact they have had on hundreds of people’s lives:

I’m going to keep this JustGiving page open until the last day of the Twitter account. That is Friday 15^th June, the day after the last day of E3.
