Story
We’d really appreciate it if you could donate some money to our chosen charity. Even though times are hard please take a couple of minutes to read our page and try your best to donate.
We are running the Windsor Half Marathon to raise money for ovarian cancer and to honour the memory of our lovely Nan. Kay Sullivan- a bright, bubbly, fantastic woman was taken by ovarian cancer in 2002- leaving behind a loving husband, 3 children and 6 young grandchildren, all of which adored the socks off her. Our Nan was the rock holding our family together and when she died the whole world beneath our feet seemed to crumble. 11 years on and we still feel just as much sadness as we did on the day she was taken from us.
It took nine whole months for doctors to diagnose her and by that time it was too late. This is what we want to change! Perhaps if they had diagnosed Nan earlier she would have been able to fight it. We want to give women the ability to tackle this horrible illness and give them the chance to stay with their loved ones longer. Every one of you reading this will have at least a mother, a nan, a sister, a wife, an auntie, niece or daughter so you know the importance of their health. By familiarising ourselves and raising awareness of ovarian cancer we could save thousands of women’s lives.
This is our chance to make our Nan proud by fighting against this illness, she had a fighting spirit, and we want this to shine through when we run the Windsor Half Marathon.
Any donations will be much appreciated, thank you for reading our story.
