I am going to Romania in August 2012 as part of a Teams4U Community team. Our aim is to ensure that as many local children as possible receive some pre-school education to help them get into mainstream schools.

These children are living within poverty and are often in over crowded living arrangements. Teams4u are working with a local charty to help it become possible for these children to recieve basic education that is needed for them to get into local schools. Without this, these children will continue to live in generations of poverty.

Teams4u also work with groups of women in communities as they are often the ones that are marginalised in society. In Urvind they have been taking small teams to do crafts, activities and basic health education with the women.

 

People2People community teams provide women with the opportunity and space to spend quality time with each other, having fun and learning new skills. Building people’s self-esteem and encouraging unity plays a vital part in people’s wellbeing through skills development we focus on empowering them to take an active role in their communities.
