Story
A small group of us are climbing Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England to raise vital funds for CLAPA.
CLAPA is a charity close to my heart as they have supported us with our journey for our daughter Connie's cleft diagnoses. The charity provided us with specialist feeding bottles for when she was born as she could not breast feed or have a normal bottle, and also provided us with lots of information regarding her diagnoses, operations she would need and her Cleft pathway.
"The UK's only national cleft support charity urgently needs your help. Our income has fallen catastrophically after the pandemic, leaving the future of our services in serious danger. Please, give what you can to help us be there for families like yours for years to come.
Three babies are born with a cleft lip and/or palate every day in the UK, and they face a 20-year treatment pathway which can continue well into adulthood. The Cleft Lip & Palate Association (CLAPA) is here to make sure no one has to go through this alone.
Every donation will help CLAPA to continue to provide specialist, targeted services to give people affected by cleft the knowledge and emotional support they need, while their UK-wide community brings together people from all walks of life to share experiences and learn to cope."
