Team Ocean Suite 

We have decided to take on the Snowdon challenge raising funds and awareness for Baby loss and giving back to an incredibly supportive charity SANDs. 

We care for fetal loss as part of our nursing roles on Ocean suite and SANDs provide memory boxes, cribs, keepsakes, support and guidance for all bereaved parents and staff.

A miscarriage or termination for fetal abnormalities is an extremely life changing event that no one should have to go through, but with our specialist care and advice we hope we really do make our patients feel safe and supported at a time it is most needed and that they are not alone. 

SANDs have started to provide staff support and training free to ensure we feel confident and competent caring for such high emotional events. As a Nurse it is not possible to forget these moments or leave your shift following a sad day and not think about the family you cared for 12.5 hours of your shift, as healthcare workers it is vital to have the resources and knowledge to provide patients with what to expect and who they can reach out to after, SANDs provide this.

If you have been affected by pregnancy loss or have a family member that has, you will fully understand how crucial it is to feel you are not alone and have support.
