Story
My name is Kayla Samuelson. In 2016, I sought treatment for a single chronic illness and, as a result of the recommended "treatment," I developed 7 additional chronic illnesses. These illnesses affect my mobility, heart rate, blood pressure, strength, endurance, independence and my general quality of life.
I have been accepted by Little Angels Service Dogs to receive a mobility service dog. In my case, the dog will be specially trained to brace for balance while walking (mobility assistance), get help, deep pressure therapy, provide help rising from the floor (when I fall) and retrieval of items, including water and my cane.
Over the last 4 years, I have gone from taking dance classes in college to bed bound, wheelchair bound, home bound and generally not able to participate in life. With one of Little Angels' amazing dogs, I have a chance to lead a more functional and independent life.
Little Angels Service Dogs is a charitable 501c3 non-profit organization which provides the capacity for tax-deductible donations to support their work in raising and training service dogs for people like me. Every dog Little Angels provides is paid for by tax-deductible donations. It can cost as much as $50,000 to raise and train a single service dog. Each dog requires a minimum of 2 years of specialized training to become a service dog. Donated funds pay for raising, boarding and training each dog until they are ready to be matched with their recipient.
Because the whole process can take years, I am trying to raise as much money as possible as quickly as possible to ensure Little Angels can continue to provide these specialized dogs to those in need.
The sooner funding is achieved, the shorter the wait time is for recipients, including me.
Please join me in supporting this organization and please consider sharing this fundraising page with your friends, family and as many people as you possibly can.
