Story
North Star Academy Trust and I want to raise money for Cancer Research UK because their relentless and ground-breaking research into life-saving treatments has helped cancer patients up and down the country, including a number of staff members that work across our trust and family members of myself and ,sadly, so many other people. Our incredible colleagues and friends have shown immense resilience and determination to battle cancer and come back even stronger; however, this is not always the case. It is the harsh reality that half of people diagnosed with cancer will not beat the disease and my sister-in-law was one of these people. This is why we must continue to support the pioneering research into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer that Cancer Research UK does everyday.
Cancer Research UK has been fighting cancer since 1902, improving cancer treatments and helping more people survive cancer. From trials to test whether a treatment is safe and effective, to testing new combinations of treatments, their scientists have carried out vital research for every type of cancer. However, this fantastic effort all requires an awful lot of money so we all need to be putting in some effort of our own... and that is where I come in. I, for some reason, promised myself I would do a skydive this year and there is no better motivation to do it than raising money for Cancer Research UK. The jump is all booked and paid for so all money raised will be going straight to the charity as a thank you from myself and North Star Academy Trust for helping our treasured staff and, of course, anyone that is sadly diagnosed with cancer.
