We lift people up out of poverty to eradicate global poverty and inequality

Story

In July and August 2013, Will and David are kayaking 500kms up the East Coast of Lake Malawi to celebrate the bicentenary of Dr David Livingstone's birth and to raise funds and awareness for the prevention of malaria in Eastern Africa.  We will venture from Leopard Bay in the south to Livinstonia in the north to honour his memory and to create our own lasting impression on a thriving country.

Malaria is Malawi's biggest killer and the communities who live on Lake Malawi and depend on its resources are among the hardest hit.  If we achieve our ambitious target of £50,000 for Concern Universal, we will be able to provide over 18,000 treated mosquito nets to some of the most need communities in the country.  Concern Universal work in partnership with the Against Malaria Foundation and 97% of their nets are still used correctly and consistently 6 months after distribution, making them a sustainable and worthwhile charity for our expedition to support.

All donations, no matter how small, will be hugely appreciated both by us and the communities of Malawi.  Please give generously.
