Story
Kay passed away, peacefully at home, on 4th October 2012. She was believed to be suffering from a very rare condition known as Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) which is similar to Parkinson's and is a progressive disease, which means that unfortunately symptoms can worsen over a period of time. There is no current cure for MSA and it is usually only positively diagnosed by a brain examination after death.
Kay was a very active person and over the last 20 years or so she particularly enjoyed the running of her antique business initially at a shop in Goudhurst and then Cranbrook. She had a fantastically charismatic outlook on life and enjoyed robust conversations on a number of topics. Unfortunately around 4 years ago the symptoms of what eventually transpired to be MSA started to become apparent. Untill the day she passed away her attitude remainded positive and determined which is something she will always be loved and remembered for. In the hope of one day finding some form of cure for MSA, Kay kindly donated her brain for future research.
The MSA Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting those affected by this disease and is funded entirely by voluntary donations to support research into identifying the causes and, hopefully, one day a cure.
Kay was buried at St Michaels Church,Church Road,Chart Sutton, Maidstone. ME17 3RE on Thursday 25th October at 1.00 pm.
