Story
Kay and Gary will be running this year's London Marathon for a charity close to Cooper & Cole’s heart - The Evelina Hospital. Kay is participating in her first London Marathon for her nephew and Gary’s little bestie Maxi.
Maxi has suffered from a lung disorder from a young age and during this time, has been a patient at the Evelina. He has had countless trips being rushed to hospital in an ambulance, overnight stays, multiple appointments, and lots of medication and tests. 2 years on after further scans and an operation, doctors found that his throat hadn’t fully formed and the liquid was entering into his lungs, stopping him from breathing properly. Big changes had to be made including his diet, avoiding all foods with liquid, and adding thickener to his drinking water, the list was endless. 3 years on, he went in for his big operation, where filler was attached to his throat to stop the liquid from entering his lungs and a feeding peg was fitted into his stomach. After a positive op, albeit his food intake still needs to be monitored, daily medication to be taken, and thickener still in his water, he is the happiest, strong little boy and will push me to the finish line!
Cooper and Cole are extremely proud of Kay and Gary, and to be supporting this incredible charity.
