Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My friend Kevin has Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Watching his daily struggles and the affect it has on his family is heart-breaking. His deterioration has meant he is solely reliant on the loved ones around him and occasional outside help. Being in his thirties and with a young daughter, he cannot do the things most fathers take for granted.

I know he and his family have benefitted from the support that the MNDA offer, so I really want to support this charity.

So, my brother (Nick) and I have decided to undertake The King Alfred's Way cycle route, a 220mile circular off-road challenge connecting some of England’s most iconic historical sites.

We’re aiming to complete the route in 4 days, giving us the opportunity to view some of the sites and document our adventure. We'll be overnighting in bivvy bags - with one 'luxury' stop at a hotel in Reading.

This is the longest distance I’ve ever ridden and I’m definitely not banking on it being an easy task. As a result, I want to take the opportunity to try and raise some money for a great cause.

Our ride takes place from the 24th to the 27th July 2021. We'll be posting updates as we go on my brothers instagram account here: https://www.instagram.com/nick_adventuring/
