Story
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!
As some of you are aware, a bizarre twist of fate has somehow blessed me with a place in the Virgin 2010 London Marathon. Only 1000 people each year are lucky enough to be granted a ballot place. I am somehow one of those lucky 1000 people. And so for this reason... i will be running 26.2 miles and hopefully crossing that finish line on 25th April 2010.
To help me through the pain, my mum is joining me for the ride. She's already got 1 London marathon under her belt so i've got a lot to live up too. So as a mother/daughter partnership, we will be running together and raising sponsorship money for the charity CRY. We chose to raise money for CRY following the unexpected death of Katrina Brown. Katrina was a fit and healthy 30 year old but she had a heart abnormality which nobody knew about until she collapsed and died whilst running the British 10k London Run.
“Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young (35 and under) people die of undiagnosed heart conditions."
Cry works to raise awareness of Sudden Death Syndrome and campaigns for proactive screening of young people to prevent tragedies like Katrina's happening again. It also offers help and support to those who have lost loved ones so tragically.

I hope as many of you as possible will come and support us on the day. 25th April 2010...make sure you put it in the diary, we'll need all the encouragement we can get. We apologise in advance for all the moaning and boring marathon chat over the next 6 months.
For those of you who know me, you'll know that this is going to be the toughest challenge i've ever had to face so please dig deep and support us.
Lots of Love
Katy and Marian!
