Story
As most of you know, Shawn spent his last three and a half weeks in the EMH. As a family we were shown incredible kindness by everyone we came into contact with. Shawn was made as pain free as possible so that we could enjoy our remaining precious days together. He was able to be his usual funny and sarcastic self in a comfortable environment where we could visit when we wanted and find support when we needed it. It's not just the hospice that needs funding, it's the John Cheverton Centre too, with it's bereavement counselling, art therapy, gardens and massages, to name just a few of the services we used freely. We have been training (a bit) and are fully intending on getting to the end of 26 miles (maybe not together as Zac's legs are TOO long, it's just not fair).
