Story
As some of you will know, on Sunday 26 October I will be
running in the Great South Run, a 10 mile run around Portsmouth and I would
like to raise as much as I can for Leukaemia Lymphoma research.
Back in March, Matt Pisano, a good friend of Neil’s lost his 9 year old son,
Oscar, to a very rare childhood Leukeamia. Whilst I never had the good
fortune to meet Oscar personally, I know from Neil and his Dad that he was a
truly brave, courageous, humorous and charming boy who lived his short life
with fun, honour and dignity far beyond his years.
Leukaemia Lymphoma research is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the
lives of patients with all types of blood cancer, including Leukaemia, lymphoma
and myeloma. This is the main charity chosen by Matt and his family as Oscar’s
consultant is heavily involved within this organisation and she was the one who
treated him with utmost care and compassion and as a result, enabled Oscar to
enjoy the best quality of live possible during the final months and years of
his very short life.
If you give nothing else this year, if you are able to find a way to part with
a few pounds and sponsor me for this race, I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you !!
