Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page dedicated to Katrina - the most amazing person I have ever met and a shining light to all her family and so many friends.
Katrina blessed my life for nearly 10 years - she was my soul mate, my best friend and whenever I was with her my world was perfect. Throughout her life Katrina gave so much and was happiest when she was looking after and bringing joy to her mother, four sisters, two nephews and the rest of her family as well as mine.
Because of her amazing kindness, zest for life and complete beauty she was loved by so many - especially her family in Sutton Coldfield and my family in Sevenoaks - she became the sister my brother never had, and the most amazing 'daughter' to my own parents.
Katrina was taken from us all when she tragically collapsed having completed the British 10k in London on Sunday 2 July 2006.
Katrina's family and I have chosen the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young ("CRY") having read about it on the British Heart Foundation website. I'm sure that Katrina would be pleased that any money raised was going to such a worthy cause.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Cardiac Risk in the Young will receive your money electronically (within a week) and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you (and collected within a month).
Many thanks for your support and well wishes.
James, Katrina's sisters (Natasha, Miranda, Lucinda and Francesca) and Marilyn (Katrina's mother)
To sponsor us (almost 100 of Katrina's friends and colleagues) run the Nike 10k on October 8th please visit www.justgiving.com/10kforkatrina - thank you.
