Story
Hi, thanks for visiting our fundraising page!
We are taking part in the SOLA Stafette in Zurich in support of SABMiller plc’s Charity of the Year, Farm Africa, a different kind of charity working to end hunger and bring prosperity to rural Africa.
For too long, Africa has struggled with the problems of hunger and poverty. Again and again, images of famine have challenged the world to end this human tragedy – but still it happens. Today, with climate change to deal with too, the need is more urgent than ever.
Farm Africa provides the training and support that poor rural communities need to identify and implement appropriate solutions to many of the key problems they face. Families are directly supported to help work themselves out of poverty through improved ways to manage their crops, livestock, forests and access to water.
SABMiller’s fundraising this year will help fund a project in Kabarole District in Uganda which is helping women’s farmer groups to improve productivity and post harvest processing of their maize crop to increase household income by more than 500%. This will not only help to improve nutrition but will allow families to improve housing standards and invest in their children’s education.
So please support the Trinity SOLA runners today!

How your donation could help:
£15 could provide tools such as spades, axes and hoes so barren land can be cultivated for food crops.
£50 could provide enough disease-resistant seeds to turn an acre of land into a much-needed source of food.
£100 could help train a farmers’ group in efficient cultivation methods, giving them the skills they need to grow food in harsh conditions.
£200 could help provide a community with a drip irrigation system so they can grow nutritious crops to eat and sell.
Thank you!
