Story
In 2007, with just days to live, my stepdad was admitted to St Ann's Hospice for palliative care, and two weeks later, he walked out of the centre alive. The help the nurses there provided gave us an extra six months with him, for which I will be forever grateful.
So, each year, I set myself a new challenge. This summer, I plan to walk 10km around Manchester in the middle of the night. I usually walk less than half of this in a whole day; I've set myself the target of doing it within 2 hours. (I really hope the timetabling department at university is kind to me that day.)
I'm doing this because SAH receives no state funding, so they need £16,000 every day to stay open. Every little helps: just £5 buys a patient some food, £20 gets a nurse's uniform, and £40 pays for physiotherapy. Please help.
