Total Warrior & DW Fitness Southport V Everton in the Community (EITC) football match · 21 June 2019
Personal Trainer Katie Sayer and her client Vicky Harrison completed the gruelling Total Warrior on 21/6/19 in order to raise money for an initiative designed to tackle poor mental health.
However, they did not want the challenge to end there.
Following on from this:
The tireless pair, are now combining forces with other DW Fitness staff , putting their reputations on the line in a football match against Everton in the Community (EitC), held at Finch Farm on 11/8/19.
BOTH events have been aimed to raise money for The People’s Place, EitC’s proposed dedicated mental health facility in the shadows of Goodison Park.
It was decided to put the money here, because one of DW's members Vicky Harrison, who is personal trained by Katie Sayer at DW Fitness, has become inspirational as a result of being through one hell of a journey of her own…

Vicky Harrison, a member of DW Fitness Southport, shed an
incredible 14 STONE in 18 MONTHS.
Weighing more than 25 stone, Vicky struggled with her weight
after turning to alcohol in an attempt to block out memories of her abusive childhood.
As well as putting away a worrying amount of booze on "bad
days", Vicky would regularly self-harm in a bid to escape the pain in her
head.
Vicky's life was "saved" when a volunteer from Everton in the
Community noticed self-harm scars on her arm while she attended a match at Goodison Park.
And now Vicky is channelling her energy into helping the charity
help others.
With the help of Vicky’s Personal Trainer, Katie Sayer, (katiesayerfitness), and the staff at DW, we are on a mission to raise as much as we can for EitC’s The People’s Place.
Everton Football Club’s official charity is aiming to build and run a facility to promote positive mental health and provide support related to suicide awareness and prevention.
The People’s Place will be accessible to anybody, regardless of age, gender or location.

(Extra Info)
The People's Place aims to lift the lid on the taboo subject of mental health and encourage people to talk more freely and openly when they are experiencing problems. Promoting positive mental health and encouraging conversations about mental health will help improve the health of individuals. This is important as improved mental health is associated with a range of better outcomes for people of all ages and backgrounds including improved physical health and life expectancy, better educational achievement, increased skills, reduced health risk behaviours, reduced risk of mental health problems and suicide and higher levels of social interaction and participation.
