Story
As my role as Helpline Team leader I see the impact the current situation is having on our demand through the helpline, web chats, online support groups and emails they are busier than ever! Due to the current situation fundraising has been harder than ever and this is huge risk for Beat's future. We are supporting suffer's, carer's , parents and NHS workers through this difficult time.
I have been a Team leader for Beat for just over 6 months now, and I have never worked with such an amazing, dedicated and hardworking team as I do now. It is the most rewarding Job I have ever had and having the chance to give support to those who most deserve it the most is something I will always treasure.
The lack of routine, the changes individuals are facing are making the chance of relapse higher and it is leading to more people developing eating disorders which is why us as a helpline can give them brave individuals the support they truly deserve and support them in feeling less alone.
During this difficult and strange time people who are self isolating with an eating disorder, or caring for someone on lock down with an eating disorder can face its challenges and this is why they need us more than ever, our online support groups give them a chance to speak to others who may be going through something similar so they feel less alone and have some form of routine again.
On Sunday 26th we will be extending these online support group hours by running our group for 26 hours!
Please donate today and help us to continue to provide this lifeline to those that need us, we receive no government funding and rely on donations from people like you!
