Relay For Life Aylesbury 2025 · 12 July 2025 ·
My journey with breast cancer started on the first day of 2024. I was standing in front of bathroom mirror with no top on when I noticed a change in the shape of my left breast. This prompted me to feel my breast and straight away I felt a lump and my I Initial response was "F*!k" I then noticed dimpling of the skin and just knew it was cancer. This was officially diagnosed very soon after finding the lump. The year consisted of multiple appointments and 3 operations (lumpectomy, masectomy and reconstruction, and then a reconstruction revision). It was hard to comprehend what was happening and that I actually had "cancer" I felt like I was just going through the motions of appointments and operations and it hadn't really sunk in. So I'm now reflecting on my journey so far, and thinking of all of us affected by cancer whether it be yourself, a family member, a friend, those who have lost a loved one... it affects us all, and I am taking part in this Relay for Life to raise funds so we can further understand Cancer and find new improved ways of preventing and treating it. Please give generously to this worthwhile cause and I thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and for your kind donations.

Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends, families and colleagues fundraise for world-leading research to save and improve lives, then unite as a community at an event to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making.
How does the money you raise power progress?
- £65 could buy special restriction enzymes. These act like molecular scissors to cut long strands of DNA, allowing our scientists to find out more about the genes that can cause cancer.
- £220 could fund our team of nine cancer nurses for one hour. Our nurse helpline offers confidential support and guidance to people affected by cancer.
When you fundraise for Relay For Life, you’re helping fund research and make discoveries. You’re helping bring about a world where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
Together we are beating cancer.
Thank you for your support.
