Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On March 31, 2009 I will be jumping out of a plane with my friend Ashleigh at 14,000 ft above Byron Bay in Australia.
This jump will be in memory of a wonderful woman, Val Howard, who sadly lost her battle against cancer in January 2007. All money raised will go directly to the Friends of the Wisdom Hospice who took care of Val during the later stages of her illness. Val was a very special person, one in a million - a loving wife, mother, friend and above all an amazingly kind individual. She is sorely missed by many every day, and touched so many people's lives in the short time we were blessed to have her here.
The Wisdom Hospice provides specialist care for individuals and their families facing the diagnosis of a life threatening disease. Based in Medway, it aims to enhance the care provided for, and the quality of life experienced by, all of those involved.
Those of you that know me well will appreciate that I don't often partake in any activity that doesn't involve vodka or a disco ball, so this little adventure is definitely out of my comfort zone! It will be filmed so you can all have proof that it was money well spent if you do decide to sponsor me.... the footage should make for interesting viewing.... I just hope there is no sound!
If anybody is unfortunate enough to have lost somebody close to them through a terminal illness, they will no doubt understand the comfort and help a place like the Wisdom Hospice can provide in those darkest hours. Although they can't provide any miracle cures, they can try to ensure that those last days are spent in peace and comfort, something that everybody deserves.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Friends of The Wisdom Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you so much for your support, even the smallest donation will make a big difference to someone and their family.
