Every year we provide care and support to over 6,500 people across South East London, both at home and in the hospice. We passionately believe that everyone should have access to the best care at the end of their lives. We need to fundraise £16 million each year to continue our services

Story

The Plan

I will be heading off from London on the 31st August to start a solo, 10-day, 154.5km hike from Milngavie to Fortwilliam, Scotland on the 1st September. I will be camping and traversing the well-trod, but challenging, West Highland Way.

Then, to push myself to the limit, I'm planning to summit the 16km of Ben Nevis; the highest mountain in the UK.  If all goes to plan, I will reach the peak on the 11th of September in celebration of my mother's birthday.

The Reason

I'm embarking on this personal challenge both to prove that I have the strength to complete such an epic adventure and also to raise money for St Christopher's Hospice, where my mother spent her final days last year. They were so kind, caring, and generous to the whole of Team Laurence during a very difficult time that I want to give back to them in any way that I can.

This is not going to be easy. My training has already started, and this final 3 month push is going to be tougher then ever to get myself ready for such a challenge.

But, as Helen Keller put it so beautifully; "life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all".
