Race the Sun Lake District 2023 · 9 September 2023 ·
When lovely Bliss sent out a random request for her girls to join her in Racing the Sun in the Lake District I said yes without thinking…
As some of you will be aware, I’ve been poorly for almost 2 years. It’s been pretty rough and I still have days when I’m not myself.
It eventually dawned on me that cycling 40 miles (I didn’t have a bike), canoeing 2 miles (I don’t have a canoe) and trekking 11 miles up and down Skiddaw (my resting heart rate was often 120bpm at the start of this adventure), all in a day, would require training and some serious thought and care - well I nearly quit before I’d started.
However, the idea of raising money for a charity dedicated to fighting disease in sick and disabled babies, children and young people coupled with a LOT of support and cheering on from my Race the Sun girls has meant I’m on my way to having a good “go” at this.
So here we are, we will be starting at sun up and we will be finishing before sun down on Saturday 9th September.
Now, I’m pretty generous at the bar and I feel I’ve been an all around good egg to you all over the years so please can you help me raise an individual sum of £500. Every quid is appreciated and I’ll be thinking of all who donate the next time I’m buying tequilas.
Thank you in advance you bunch of lovelies!
Katie
