Story
I lost my beautiful mum to breast cancer almost 20 years ago & miss her everyday. I hoped that it wouldn’t happen to me but sadly in August 21 I found a lump. Thankfully I acted quickly and got myself to the doctors & within 3 and a half weeks I had been diagnosed & had surgery to remove the lump. Thankfully the cancer has not spread to my lymph nodes so hasn’t gone anywhere else. I am waiting for some radiotherapy & grateful I do not need chemotherapy. If I had waited and not acted things could be very different so please I encourage you to check your bodies, know what is normal so you know when something is not! And act….get any lumps and bumps checked.
Breast Cancer Now's wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place on 22 October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of amazing people will wear it pink in their communities, schools or workplaces, to help make life-changing research and care happen.Over the past year, people have been diagnosed with the disease at a time when everything from treatment to screenings have been disrupted. This has only made us more determined to make sure we're there to provide support for now and hope for the future. Join me on Friday 22 October, and wear it pink for all those affected by breast cancer. Thank you!
