You probably already know that we both work for Whizz-Kidz! It's a charity we both genuinely love, so we've decided to raise some real money by taking on the marathon. 

A bit more about Whizz-Kidz - we're a disabled children's charity that helps kids all across the UK. We provide wheelchairs and other mobility equipment and we run youth groups, wheelchair skills training, residential camps and work placements. You might be surprised to know that lots of kids with disabilities can't get the equipment they need from the NHS, there are often long waiting lists and in many cases children are given something that isn't the right size or is too heavy for them to push themselves, so they end up with health problems, or simply not being able to get around. 

We both regularly get to meet and work with some of the young people who have been helped by Whizz-Kidz, which is one of the best bits of the job. And we're particularly looking forward to mile 23 on the marathon course where we'll be cheered on by loads of the charity's beneficiaries! Even if we are crawling by that point. 

We're hoping to raise £3,200, which is about the cost of providing a child with a manual wheelchair (including the cost of the assessment with one of our therapists).
