Supporting a local Fijian school , 24 April 2018
A large pupil to teacher ratio, lack of quality resources, and poor infrastructure in schools all pose considerable barriers to young people’s prospects at school and beyond in Fiji.

Story

Many young people and families in global communities face a bleak immediate future, faced with constraints and challenge. Deficiency in basic physiological needs pose barriers to achieving full potential. Unless these basic needs are met the children of today will struggle to be effective contributors to their own communities and wider society in the future. We need to help address this issue and create a brighter future for the global communities that we work with.

A large pupil to teacher ratio, lack of quality teacher training and resources, and poor infrastructure in schools all pose considerable barriers to young people's prospects at school and beyond in Fiji.

The Travel Teacher Foundation works in partnership with local schools and builds the capacity of teaching staff and management through the professional development and the sharing of resources.

In 2018, the funds will be primarily used to support the basic provisions for students.
