Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have chosen to challenge myself massively by treking the Canadian Rockies in 2015 over 9 days for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. As you may or may not know, I am a Staff Nurse working for Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands. It's a job that I love doing and find it incredibly rewarding. Patients may need to visit a hospice for various reasons. For some it may be to get their symptoms under control, for others a weeks respite is exactly what they need. For other patients they've chosen to die with dignity within the Hospice, surrounded by their loved ones, allowing them and their families to have precious quality time together.
We have recently moved into a purpose-built Hospice in Solihull, which allows patients to have individual rooms and their own patio space. Even though we raised the £7 million needed for this beautiful building, we rely completely on donations to allow this service to keep going. I have seen first hand how much the nurses and hospice staff provide invaluable support to families and patients when they need it most. You never know when you might be faced with the situation of a loved one needing the invaluable support of a hospice in the future, so please dig deep and help me raise the £4000 needed to allow this wonderful, amazing work to continue for the patients that will need it in the future.
I know 2015 seems a long way off, But I will need that time in order to raise the £4000! Please support me in the next two years in any way you can! :)
